Okay; this episode of Trending with Timmerie is one of those "wow, did that really happen?" moments. Timmerie is talking about Our Lady of La Leche, otherwise known as "Our Lady of the Milk." Our Lady under this title has brought about miracle babies for couples dealing with infertility. First off, October 11th is her feast day, and the devotion to her dates way back to the 16th century, when Spanish settlers brought it over to the U.S. (specifically St. Augustine, Florida). Our Lady of La Leche has been the go-to intercessor for couples struggling to conceive or hoping for a safe delivery. One of the wildest stories Timmerie shares is how the devotion even started. There’s this man in Spain, right? His wife is pregnant, but it’s looking really bad. He finds some kids tossing a statue of Mary nursing baby Jesus around like it’s a toy, rescues it, brings it home, and just starts praying like crazy. Both his wife and baby survive, and just like that, a whole devotion to Our Lady of La Leche is born. Fast forward to today, and Timmerie tells the story of Walker Larson and his wife, who were both dealing with infertility. A priest told them about Our Lady of La Leche and suggested visiting her shrine in St. Augustine, Florida. They did, prayed for a miracle... and a few months later, they were PREGNANT! While praying, they also discovered a natural remedy called maca. This root has been used since forever to help with fertility. Our Lady of La Leche has been interceding for centuries, helping couples overcome infertility through prayer. If you or someone you know is struggling with infertility, why not ask for her intercession?
