As we continue in Genesis chapter 6 this week, the fallen state of mankind and its sin continued to spread and man had no way to fix it itself. Only the utterly undeserved suffering and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus could rescue unbelievers out of the powers of darkness and blindness.

We will let it Speak for Itself: Romans 6:6-18 (Amplified Classic Version): 6 We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. 7 For when a man dies, he is freed (loosed, delivered) from [the power of] sin [among men]. 8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 Because we know that Christ (the Anointed One), being once raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him. 10 For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. 11 Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus. 12 Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions. 13 Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and [l]faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. Our soul (mind, will and emotions) is not transformed when we give our life to Christ. Our free will choice has full control over when it wants to begin transformation. This process only begins once we accept the Word of God (the Bible) as the Truth, and do it, not just hearing it, deceiving ourselves. While the portion of our mind that isn't yet renewed is carnal, and at enmity (war) with God, He still loves us nonetheless and wants us to be set free from our old understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). The soul that has been rescued by the Father through His Son Jesus, from out of the Kingdom of Darkness and into God's Own Kingdom has now been set free from sin. That is because the Christian is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), which is not subjected to the law of sin and death any more. That old self was buried in Christ. The Christian now has to make sure they continue to seek Jesus and remain in Christ, such that they are protected from slipping back into the world from which they were delivered from, and from which they were conformed to before. God created you to be you, the new you, not the fallen you. God has plans to prosper you, to give you a hope and a future, not to harm you. You now get to walk with God while His Word is transforming you..... for the first time since we were separated at the Tree in the Garden. We used to sin before we were born again due to our fallen sinful nature. We were originally created in the image of God but our spirits fell when we obeyed Satan instead of God in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:6). For the born again Christian who made the decision for Christ, God has replaced the fallen spirit with a new regenerated one. God continues to transform the new believer's heart based on the will of the person. It is the Lord’s desire, His Will, that you would experience what He has already promised you in His Word.
