On Pesach we celebrate the Exodus from Egypt. Our nation endures hundreds of years of servitude and enslavement and unimaginable suffering and torment under the ruthless rule of Pharaoh and the Egyptians. But God did not forget His covenant. In keeping with His promise to Abraham, the Almighty redeemed us from Egypt with an outstretched arm and a mighty hand and great miracles and wonders. Each year, we strive to relive that experience on Pesach. In this special Pesach podcast we examine the two very different ways that this story is told. In Scripture, the story of the Exodus is very Pharaoh-centric; what happened to the Jews is largely omitted. In the Haggadah, that guides us through the Seder night, this is reversed: Pharaoh’s role is largely ignored and even directly minimized and the story of the Jews is highlighted. It seems that there were two versions of the Exodus story.
