If you and I were to work together, one of the first things I’d ask you about is your dreams. What does your dream career look like? Your dream partner? Your dream life? I’m a huge supporter of dreams because they’ve played a crucial role in my life.
I grew up with a big dream of going to Africa. From as far back as I can remember, I was passionate about anything and everything to do with Kenya. It took 20+ years to make that dream a reality, but what it taught me is that whatever you truly want… those “impossible” dreams are, in fact, possible.
Your dream might not have anything to do with traveling to a foreign land, but whatever it is, your number one priority needs to be becoming the person who can step into that dream as reality. That is what I help you do. It’s this transformation that feels a bit like magic, but the truth is that it’s simply about choices and stories and action.
Before I list any of my accomplishments, I’d like to be clear… I’ve excelled in the failure department: massive business failures, bankruptcy and home foreclosure, romantic breakups… Over the course of my life, I’ve gotten really good at failing.
I graduated with a degree (BA) in Theology in 2000, and then went on to work in Research & Development for a Fortune100 company. There, I gained valuable insight into leadership, training and corporate responsibility.
In 2006, I was awarded the prestigious Global Health Fellowship based on my humanitarian work with women and children in Africa. I spent six months working on HIV and AIDS prevention initiatives in Kenya and Uganda.
I continued to pursue my passion for writing and graduated with a master of fine arts (MFA) degree in Creative Writing.
In 2013, I completed my dissertation on the science of heart intelligence for my PhD in Metaphysics.
I have been honored to share the stage with many extraordinary speakers both in the US and internationally.
Coaching has changed my life and, by that, I mean being coached. The first thing I did when I left Corporate America to go into coaching full time was to hire a coach. Since then, I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars in coaches, workshops and courses to constantly improve my craft and to do my own inner work. As Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, says, “Everyone needs a coach.”
What I love about coaching is that I get to be part problem solver, part spiritual advisor, part project manager and part adventure guide—all things I’m passionate about.
