OUR FIRST EVER PODCAST INTERVIEW! SO FREAKIN EXCITED FOR YOU SPENDING TIME WITH ME & BRANDY! My interview skills weren’t the best, but brandy was an excellent guest. If I can do one podcast interview well, I can do all without a problem, a friend told me. So overtime I’ll become a better interviewer. :) Sharing your writing is petrifying, cause yes we might have a niche, a why, a value, and a story to write for our people, but how can we actually have the courage and audacity to accept our work and share it to the world proudly? It’s one of the scariest as I always in class would keep my writing to myself despite my teacher loving and wanting me to share it. I pushed past my fear of stage fright and shared it and my class loved it. From that point on I’m never afraid to share my writing and will volunteer to be first as often as I can. You must be willing to write consistently that fits your schedule and fits your life. Don’t write everyday if you know you won’t stick with it. Even one writing is considered to be a consistent writer. Once you start to write, you start to realize it’s not as bad as you thought and you will get more comfortable and of course that the only way your writing skills will improve. I never improved on YouTube until I just keep recording. Don’t be afraid to suck. Don’t force yourself to be this genius writer and all your writings are top notch. Cause that’s not relatable nor is it inspiring. People want you to share your process with them, your wins, your loses, your vulnerabilities, and all that. Sharing your past and being vulnerable is gonna make you different and take you extremely far! Don’t even worry about researching your niche, you need to start writing to see if it’s for you or not and your willing to be a full time writer or just do writing as a side hobby. That when you can add your flavor to it like niche, why, value, and all that Jazz. Take it slowwwwww lol. I didn’t go into dexter laboratory and do all this, I just got started and learn and shared as I go as I am doing right now. Generate a little debate and controversy will take you a long way for sure. Having haters is a good thing cause it shows who your writing for and that your mission is making some people uncomfortable and doing clickbaty stuff is also a good thing. Sometimes being a writer is all about taking risks and not be afraid cause it will pay off. Yes you will get backlash but what gonna happen, other people are gonna wanna see what the ruckus is all about and if they love you writing and forget the drama, they’ll support you. It’s better to be talked about then not to be talked about at all. This also include sharing your beliefs and what you stand for and what you don’t stand for and that shows your courageous and readers love writers who put themselves in that position.
