Host Paul Thompson is joined for this episode of “The Wake-Up Call” Podcast by Short-Term Rental/Hospitality Professional, Youtuber, and “Builder”, Alex Jarbo. The two discuss how he has optimized an incredible workflow unique to the Hospitality space, including bringing in returning customers and maximizing cash flow.

After leaving the military, Alex’s “Wake-Up Call” led him into business and moved him toward the Ashville, North Carolina sector. He has since started building and renting interesting and unique spaces such as Cabins and Treehouse Rentals, which he considers to be the future of Short Term Rentals/Airbnb.

  • The more Streamlined your operations, the higher the valuation

  • Boomers are Passing their properties on to Millenials and Gen Z who are much more likely to sell than their elders.

  • The goal is to capture guests’ info after bookings, and remarket to them through a direct booking website– avoiding Airbnb, etc. entirely.

  • If customers find a good host, they’re much more likely to rebook, creating a wheel of direct rebookings

  • What Tech can you get involved into your Business before you involve a “Who”?

  • The Larger the Runway (Bigger Size of Deal) The longer the duration of the deal

  • Airbnb/Vacation Rentals has gone to the “Unique Stay” space, leaning hard into something “Instagrammable” and exciting.

  • If you can make it work in this interest rate environment— you can make it work anywhere. “Survive to ‘25”.
