...And yet, we figured out a way to miss nearly all of the baseball that happened since last week's episode of The Voice of the Turtle. So, instead of staying up all night cramming for this week's show like we're back in college (and let's be honest, we'd probably just end up at the bar), we decided to do our first ever Listener Email Show! That's right, this week's episode is nothing but us answering your questions about the Tigers, their playoff chances, the trade for Erick Aybar, and a few offseason ideas. You asked us about Mike Aviles, Justin Upton, and off-the-wall prospects like John Hicks, and we dutifully provided our best (and worst) answers for your inquiries. We even discussed what it would take to do a daily podcast! (Hint: a lot.) Of course, there are a couple of tangents along the way. Orioles Zach Britton was discussed as a potential Cy Young candidate earlier this week, so we debated his candidacy, along with that of one Michael Fulmer. Al Avila has had a year in the big boss chair as Tigers GM, and we discuss how he has done in his first season on the job. Rob even gives out a hot take about Brad Ausmus, as well as his suggestion for who could replace him when he inevitably (we hope?) moves on. In all, the episode still nearly reaches the two-hour mark, but is one of our best and favorites yet. Keep the questions coming!
