Timing can be a b**** sometimes, and the Tigers' recent play leading up to the latest episode of The Voice of the Turtle is no exception. After reeling off four consecutive wins over a flailing Seattle Mariners squad, the Tigers were swept -- AGAIN -- by the Cleveland Indians leading up to Monday's off day. The show must go on, though, and this week's episode proves just that. Rob and HookSlide try their best to take a thousand-foot view of the Tigers' season despite the three-game losing streak, assessing the Tigers' trade prospects and playoff odds. They also talk about what is plaguing Miguel Cabrera, Daniel Norris' first start of the season, and why in the world the Tigers would start Anibal Sanchez again. Things get a little somber with one of the more disheartening weekly quizzes of the season, but a few oddball listener questions help lighten the mood! Then, your fearless co-hosts finish up by talking about what kind of Tigers fans they are! Can the Tigers make the playoffs? Will they buy or sell at the trade deadline? Listen to this week's show to hear what we think! Topics in this week's episode include: - What Great Britain and the Tigers have in common - The puzzling decision to start Anibal Sanchez - Miguel Cabrera's weird, weird season - More Miami baseball - How the Tigers get back into the division race - The MLB trade deadline and how the Tigers should approach it - Best fireworks, worst lineups, and bad Tigers pitchers from the '90s - What kind of Tigers fan are you? Contents: 3:08 - Rounding the Bases: this is how you lose the division 37:55 - Warming in the Pen: this is how you win the division 53:39 - High and Tight: ok, Tigers, so now what? 1:12:44 - Into the Mob Scene at Home: the baseball gods are angry 1:37:25 - The 7th Inning Kvetch: what kind of fan are you?
