Growth is a weird thing. We all want to grow, but we seldom are ready to experience the emotional turbulences that come with true growth.
The thing about growth is that it is indeed uncomfortable. It is uncomfortable to try something new, to dive into a different group of people, to show a side of yourself you haven't been sharing with the world yet.
