Now, this episode was supposed to cover a different topic entirely, but then something caught my eye and led me down an unexpected path. Oprah had an illuminating discussion about menopause, a conversation that promised to expose the untold truths and misconceptions about this universal experience. But there was a catch: she shared her own struggles to be heard and to receive the treatment that she needed.

If Oprah struggled to find the help she needed, despite all her resources, what hope do the rest of us have?

So, I decided to delve deeper. I started digging into the experiences of menopausal women in Canada and the US, and the numbers are staggering. Over 1 billion women will experience menopause by 2025, and yet, there seems to be an alarming lack of awareness and understanding of this natural life transition among healthcare providers.

My personal experience with menopause echoes this sentiment. The trials and tribulations I've faced in my hormonal journey – from weight gain and emotional turbulence to an overall feeling of losing control over my own body – have not been properly addressed by healthcare professionals. The struggle to get an accurate diagnosis, the fight for proper hormone testing, the resistance I faced when asking for hormone replacement therapy – all these experiences paint a grim picture of a system that fails women at a crucial phase of their lives.

But this episode is not just about highlighting the problems. It's about inciting change. It's about raising our voices against the dismissal and trivialization of our experiences. If history has taught us anything, it's that women have the power to bring about change. From gaining the right to vote to fighting for workplace equality, we have always risen to the challenge.

And now, it's time to demand better menopausal care. It's time to share our stories, our struggles, our triumphs. I'm extending an invitation to everyone listening to this podcast – I want to hear from you. Let's use this platform to ignite a conversation that will lead to a revolution in the way we understand and treat menopause.

This conversation doesn't end when this episode does. It doesn't stop here or on my website or in the comments section. It continues with YOU. You, who have been quietly grappling with the changes, the frustrations, and the confusion of this journey through menopause. You, who have felt dismissed, ignored, or misunderstood by your healthcare providers. You, who feels compelled to make a change, not just for yourself, but for every woman who will walk this path after you.

So here is my call to action for you: Reach out to me. Share your story, your struggles, your victories, and your wisdom. Whether it's through an email, a voice note, or even if you're ready to share your journey on a future episode of this podcast, your experience is the catalyst for this movement.
