In this episode we continue with our theme of stories that invoke the Thanksgiving Spirit. Today featuring 'Two Thanksgiving Day Gentlemen' by O. Henry. This a short story that first appeared in his 1907 collection, The Trimmed Lamp and Other Stories of the Four Million. The story takes place around the turn of the 20th century, when many people had immigrated to the United States from Europe and were NEW to the country and the holiday. This story which features another classic O. Henry twist at the end, raises questions about the importance of tradition, particularly in a relatively new country like the United States.
