Left with just ace-high on the river in a huge pot, he had to decide whether to fire a third and final bullet or give up on this huge bluff. What will he do?

When 3-betting preflop from out of position, you should make your 3-bet at least four times the initial opener’s raise size. If you make the raise too small, your opponent can always call, getting great odds, and you will end up playing a huge pot out of position against a wider range.

Ethan Yau, a.k.a Rampage, is a popular YouTuber and poker player. He has over 281,000 subscribers on YouTube and has won over $2,300,000 in tournament earnings, including a $900,000 win in a December 2022 World Poker Tour (WPT) High Roller at the Wynn.

Pre-Flop Action:
Villain 1 makes a min-raise to 50,000 from the cutoff. Villain 2 in the small blind calls, before Rampage Poker 3-bet squeezes to 230,000 from the big blind with AQo. Villain 1 calls in position, but Villain 2 folds.

Flop – Kh Ts 6h:
Rampage flops a gutshot straight draw on the king-high, two-heart board. He continuation bets for 160,000, and Villain 1 calls to see the turn.

Turn – 6s:
A board-pairing 6 of spades on the turn doesn’t slow down Rampage, who fires a second barrel of 375,000. Villain 1 smooth calls, and they head to the river.

River – 8s:
The 8 of spades brings in the backdoor flush. Rampage is left with just ace-high after missing his straight draw. But what will he do now? Will he continue his story of a monster hand and move all-in, or will he wave the white flag and check? Watch this poker find video to find out!
