In today’s chat, we’re learning from Creator, Marie-Jeanne Tuyisenge and founder of Mazzprints, an African print clothing brand. She creates and celebrates the richness of African culture through modern silhouettes in bold prints because she believes that every woman in her clothes deserves to be seen, and feel bold, outstanding, and confident.
In this episode, Marie shares her personal story of escaping the Rwandan Genocide and living in a refugee camp in Tanzania before moving to Australia and becoming a self-taught fashion designer through her mother's cultural influence and by learning how to sew by watching YouTube videos of certified seamstresses.
She now runs a bold African-owned clothing business alongside studying psychology amongst many other things.
