As part of our series honoring and commemorating the 80th anniversary of different battles of the Great Patriotic War, the Second World War, we will be looking at the 80th Anniversary of the Allied Operation Overlord (better known as D-Day) and Soviet Operation Bagration. This class is special as it allows us as Americans to honor our brave anti-fascist soldiers who fought in a rare justified American military campaign, while also focusing on the Soviet perspective and paying tribute to the overlooked and obfuscated Eastern Theater as we have with previous classes. We will explore the lead-up to D-Day and US intervention in WW2 leading up to D-Day.
