The month of October is known to bring awareness to many great causes. Today, my guest Mrs. Judith “Judy” Tanksley-Castro and I discuss surviving Domestic Violence. We also discuss her bravery and healing from sexual assault and substance abuse. It is our hope to always support and advocate for survivors, mourn those we’ve lost and celebrate those working continuously to heal and recover. It is essential that we keep spreading the word, as domestic abuse has risen since COVID 19.

Mrs. Judith is one of the most inspiring and resilient examples of someone who never gave up and will share her testimony to bring awareness to everyone who will listen. It is important to note that every domestic violence survivor’s story is unique and “after” isn’t always clear and safe. As difficult as it was to cover all Mrs. Judith overcame in 1 hour, it was just as difficult to know she had to endure so much starting at such a young age. But, in her words “But Yet I Live”. Her persistence and fight to live, allowed her to later accomplish goals she had as a young lady. Mrs Judith received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and then her Masters Degree in 2019 at the age of 64 years young. She is not stopping there and now looking to relocate to the Atlanta Georgia area as soon as she finds employment in her field. Anyone seeking a vibrant, eager person to work with Seniors or to be a Case Manager, please contact Mrs. Judith at “judyanndevotional@gmail.com".

In this episode, Judith and I discussed:

  • Her Path: Surviving Domestic & Sexual violence and Substance Abuse.
  • How words and our environment matters. Some of us display what we see and say.
  • How It’s NEVER TOO late to accomplish your goals receiving her Masters Degree (2019)
