Manage episode 460609961 series 32834
40:14 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I’ll present the audio of a cassette tape or historic material from my personal archives.
This is quite a find – a recording of an episode of Anything But Monday that hasn’t been previously released! Plus, some other stuff that was on the same tape.
[1] Sounds of the Commons, episodes 1–3, original version, as played on the radio, circa Spring 1986. [2] Additional audio from the recording session. [3] Production audio from the Little Frankie Nora song Galaxy Reel from Shatter Cider (circa 1987). [4] Previously unreleased section of an Anything But Monday show, on WMNJ at Drew University in Madison, NJ, Monday, March 31, 1986 – notes: cultural enrichment, Mike’s injury, Pablo Picasso, instant weather, WMNJ News Brief, Word of the Later in the Morning (Cozy, Counterproductive, Counterrevolutionaries), Truly Tasteless Jokes, First Phone Call, We Put You on the Air, Reid Fleming, World’s Toughest Milkman, This Is What We Think of “Progressive Music”, Superdog, Pablo Picasso, Autism PSA, profane vowels, Frank Sinatra, Emergency Broadcast System, another PSA, Frank broadcasting alone, Carson hasn’t shown up for his show, The Alan Parsons Project. (Audio from an Italian langauge instructional tape, that was originally on the tape, can be heard in-between some of the segments.)
