A couple of years ago, I did a series on Kris Fowler, who went missing hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016. One of the interviews I did right before the series came out was with former Park Ranger Andrea Lankford, who wrote the bestseller "Ranger Confidential." At the time, Andrea alluded to me that she was researching another book about missing persons on the PCT. Well, Andrea's latest book, "Trail of the Lost: The Relentless Search to Bring Home the Missing Hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail" comes out this month and looks at the disappearances of Kris Fowler, Chris Sylvia, and David O'Sullivan, all who went missing while through hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

I was lucky enough to get an advance copy of Andrea's book and read it this summer. It's a riveting story, incredibly well-written and exhaustively researched. Her book, "Trail of the Lost," comes out on August 22, 2023; you can find it on Amazon or where you get your books. I talked with Andrea about the book, her writing journey, and why people go missing on the PCT.

Here's my chat with Andrea.
