South Carolina's Virtual Library is pleased to announce two additions to its lineup of resources: LearningExpress Library and Ferguson's Career Guidance Center; National Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS), a division of the Library of Congress, entered the first phase of its transition to a digital playback system; Charleston Library Society has named local historian, teacher and writer Anne Walker Cleveland as its new executive director; National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded the University of South Carolina libraries a $350,000 grant to make many late 19th- and early 20th-century South Carolina newspapers accessible via the Web; featured web site is www.hcml.org.
