Contenders for ASUM Senate clash on diversity and engagement
Manage episode 340258860 series 3391862
On Tuesday, candidates for the University of Montana's student government clashed onstage in the University Center Theater in a first-ever Kaimin debate. Our moderator asked them questions about their qualifications and policies to give students at UM a clear idea of who's running to represent them at the University.
Rounding out our debate series are the senators — the largest group of any of the elections this year. Senators represent UM students in the ASUM Senate, passing resolutions and bills to spend student fees and amplify the student voice to administrators.
The candidates include: Halston Witt, O'Shay Birdinground, Kendal Burcham, Chad Keller, Zyanne Cervantes, Caelan Milligan, Alysa Curry, Taylor Curry, Jorgie Hawthorne, Erin Heaton, Hannah Merrick, Maggie Bell, Ana Salyards, Emma Wickum, Aidan Winterburn and Walker Winterburn.
