Lauren-Michael Sellers had an incredible four-chair turn on season 26 of NBC’s hit show, The Voice! She’s on Team Reba.

Lauren-Michael moved around the country her whole life due to her difficult childhood.

Her mother suffered from mental illness, and as she was the oldest of her five siblings, Lauren-Michael was forced to grow up quickly to fill the mom role. In ninth grade, her mother lost custody of her and her siblings. They were all separated.

This must have been devastating to a young girl, being separated from her family. But she didn’t let it define her. Her inner strength drove her to overcome these tragedies. She would define her life and not let the circumstances define who she would become.

She now lives in Nashville, TN, as a special education teacher and worship director.

With both Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees, she uses her education to give her students a voice.

She believes her students have exceptionalities, not disabilities, and leading worship has gifted her with both a church family and renewed faith.
