Dr. Tyler Rouse is the creator and host of the Legends of Surgery Podcast. His podcast provides fascinating history and insight on historic surgeons, surgical procedures, and the entire field of medicine. Dr. Rouse has created a special episode on Dr. Russell M. Prior to his full-time church service he practiced as a cardiothoracic surgeon. He was a key figure in the development of the heart-lung machine and was the 3rd surgeon to perform open heart surgery. He was one of the first surgeons to perform a tricuspid valve annuloplasty. Dr. Nelson received the Heart of Gold Award from the American Heart Association.
