Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling is a comedian, radio personality, actor, author and singer/songwriter. He’s actually done some of those in recent decades. For eighteen years (1983-2001) he was Head Writer and a cast member on radio & television's now-legendary Howard Stern Show.
Born and raised in East Norwich, Long Island, he graduated in 1966 from Oyster Bay High School and for no apparent reason earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University in 1971.
Jackie was very instrumental in escalating the very fledgling Long Island comedy club scene in the late 70’s, aided by the creation of his still-active (forty-three years and counting) joke line, “Use Your Finger! (516) 922-WINE.”
He still performs all over the country, spouting rapid-fire jokes (some say better than anyone ever) and of course laughing has ass off.
“Joke Man” .. an IKA Collective documentary about Jackie’s interesting journey from there to here .. was completed in Fall 2021 and is coming soon to screens wherever the producers can sneak it on.
