In this extended episode Black female educator, librarian, and my friend Janet Damon examine the classic and controversial film The Color Purple. We discuss the implied and explicit themes of the book including the legacy of slavery, sexual abuse and sexually liberation, plus the cast, the social impact of the film and much, much more! I apologize for the poor sound quality of my mic in the first half of the show. Hopefully the conversation is engaging enough to make up for it. Also, I added audio clips from the movie to the show to remind you of some of the most iconic and favorite scene! The link for the video to new movies that Janet mentioned is https://t.co/0qdVHwe5B9.
