This Is Woman's Work with Nicole Kalil

In this episode, we delve into the concept of being "qualified" in the workplace, examining who gets labeled as such, who doesn't, and the underlying reasons. We explore "competency checking"—the practice of scrutinizing individuals' abilities—and how it disproportionately affects underrepresented groups, often going unnoticed or unchallenged. Our discussion aims to redefine qualifications in a fair, equitable, and actionable manner. Our guest, Shari Dunn , is an accomplished journalist, former attorney, news anchor, CEO, university professor, and sought-after speaker. She has been recognized as Executive of the Year and a Woman of Influence, with her work appearing in Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Ad Age, and more. Her new book, Qualified: How Competency Checking and Race Collide at Work , unpacks what it truly means to be deserving and capable—and why systemic barriers, not personal deficits, are often the real problem. Her insights challenge the narratives that hold so many of us back and offer practical solutions for building a more equitable future. Together, we can build workplaces and communities that don’t just reflect the world we live in, but the one we want to create. A world where being qualified is about recognizing the talent and potential that’s been overlooked for far too long. It’s not just about getting a seat at the table—it’s about building an entirely new table, one designed with space for all of us. Many mistake the idea of Back to Jerusalem as a movement of the Chinese church to evangelize Jerusalem. However, Back to Jerusalem is the goal of the Chinese church to evangelize the unreached peoples from eastern provinces of China, westwards towards Jerusalem. Our organization partners with the church of China to not only evangelize the religiously oppressed areas of Asia, but to also train and send Chinese missionaries into the unreached regions of the globe. This podcast is a publication of the 501(c)(3) organization Back To Jerusalem and chronicles our experiences from the field.

×Banu joins us again on the podcast to discuss some disturbing news coming out of India. There has been a call for 5,000 Hindu extremists to attack Christians in central India on March 1.
“The other day I was in Barns and Noble bookstore. I looked at a NLT Bible by Tyndale and saw that it was printed in China. I was surprised since the country is against Christianity. Maybe Bibles are being secretly sent out there or is China just profiting from Christianity.” So many honest Christians, like the one who wrote this letter, are confused. Aren’t Bibles illegal in China? If so, then why is my Bible made in China?…
In case you missed it, there was an earth-shattering debate between Billy Carson and Wes Huff and it was heard around the world. The debate wasn’t a big deal in and of itself, but it turned into a David and Goliath event that no one saw coming. Perhaps the debate exploded all over the internet because it is indicative of the spiritual battle that we are seeing in the world today in a way that directly impacts Christians.…
Rabbi Myles Weiss and Eugene Bach discuss numerous current events including the ongoing conflict in Gaza and what it means for the future of the region.
Eugene just spoke with our Chinese partners working inside of Syria and the information he has might be a little different than what you're hearing in the news.
Eugene gives an update on global persecution: imprisoned pastors, Syria’s oldest Christians facing new cycles of suffering, and reflects on Christmas beyond Western traditions.
In this episode, Eugene shares his thoughts on COP 29 (a climate change conference recently hosted in Azerbaijan) and an interesting insight about the nations most effected by climate disasters and those funding the response.
Eugene and Abdull have been working together for about two decades, but only met each other face-to-face a couple of years ago. After briefly meeting in a small airport in Athens they caught up again at a remote seaside cafe and spent hours talking and sharing stories. During that time, God knitted their hearts together and Abdull shared amazing things with Eugene that had never told anyone. Some of those stories are now our new book, JIHAD: The Day I Died.…
Eugene wanted to take a few minutes and announce our "last call" for the 2025 BTJ Hackers Conference. If you're a gamer, web developer, coder, inventor, manufacturer, or hacker, we'd love to have you join us in January 2025!
Our friend, David Johannes, joins Eugene on the podcast from Thailand which is experiencing record-breaking rains and floods.
In this episode, Rabbi Myles Weiss joins Eugene to discuss the state of Iran, connecting the physical war in the Middle East to the ongoing supernatural battle. They delve into the history of Iran and how God is moving within its underground church.
In this episode, Pastor Chris joins Eugene to discuss his new book *Hate Evil*. They explore the idea that love and hate must work together to combat the growing evil in the world. Pastor Chris shares his personal challenges and argues that failing to express righteous anger weakens the fight against darkness.…
Eugene has been living in China for over 25 years and just did something he's never done before... he entered China without a visa. On this episode, he breaks down how he did it and explains why the travel restrictions into China are the least stringent in decades.
Will and Eugene are on the road in the USA and reminisce on a few powerful stories from our tours over the years, including a selfless act by a homeless man at one of our meetings.
Bethany joins Eugene on the podcast to talk about the latest book from BTJ, JIHAD: The Day I Died. This compelling story takes you into the dark world of the grandson of a radical Ayatollah in Iran who gave his life to Jesus.
