As a community, we’re really going to have to go after this “respectability politics” thing. In the aftermath of the thing we will not mention, I saw many examples of respectability politics play out, and I’m not sure all of us were aware when we were buying into them. This episode is about those comments, not about the moment. This is a thinking episode. I really want us to dig into our visceral actions to the “thing,” and how we’re reacted to other folks’ reactions to the “thing.” I’d love to hear what you think about these ideas.
