We are following a golden thread through history. This shiny metal has motivated wars, justified conquests, spurred exploration, inspired artistic masterpieces, invoked religious reverence and yielded scientific discoveries. And um... most of all gold gives us the most enduring, iconic forms of jewelry of all time.
In part one of our first ever series, "A Casual History of Gold" we discuss where gold comes from in the first place (hint... look up. Wayyyy up) and how ancient civilizations first discovered and used gold. How did gold first become money in a pocket? What kind of people were the very first treasure hunters? We dig into all this and more as we kick off this golden journey.
Narration - Jen Sieverling
Research & Writing - Jen Sieverling
