I grew up in a family where I was taught that speaking up and using your voice matters. That having beliefs and standing by them, matters.

Today’s world, though, seems saturated with folks who are so focused on doing that, they lock into wherever they are, double down and become very committed to how right they are - and how wrong others are. It was recently that I learned this isn’t taking a stand. It’s taking a position. And that doing so, by definition means there will be something or someone in op-position … aka conflict. Coming across a strange thing in an overgrown wooded path sparked the topic and this episode is what came of it.

In a world where what passes for radical honesty usually means someone is just letting things fly outta their pie-hole without much care for others, it’s time for radically authentic conversation.
