The ‘Talent Instinct’ podcast episode 15 by Chantal Penny is an electrifying space where we dive into how construction business owners revamp their hunt for top-tier talent by ‘instinctivizing’ your efforts.

Everyone at work has a responsibility for health and safety, both physical and psychological. In a world where the sounds of hammers and drills echo through our cities, there's a silent struggle that needs our attention - suicide.

Construction has faced many challenges recently. Just when you think you've finally adjusted to the aftermath of Covid, supply chain chaos, collapsing construction companies, job losses, relentless industry demands, skyrocketing interest rates, rising living costs, protests, and unrest, another potential pressure looms on the horizon - a slowing economy. Is it no wonder some of our most resilient bosses and workers can feel despair.

Construction professionals face unique challenges that can take a toll on their mental health, and I’m here to break the silence, share stories, and build a community of support. I discuss identification and actions to take to seek or give support from a deeply personal and compassionate space. Whether you're a seasoned professional, a newcomer to the industry, or someone supporting a loved one in construction, in this podcast I discuss the challenges, break down stigmas, and how to find hope and support.

I also provide resources and contacts if you find yourself in this position, or know someone who is. Our industry inherently has high risks due to the pressured nature of the work, making it crucial for ALL stakeholders to prioritise and actively participate in identifying and supporting anyone suffering with thoughts of suicide.
