In this episode I explore the concept of compulsions and how they differ from addictions, shedding light on behaviours that many of us may not even realise are compulsive. From gym routines to eating habits, I discuss how these patterns can be both healthy and unhealthy, depending on the context. One area I’m particularly passionate about is the importance of recognising compulsive behaviours in both children and adults. For instance, compulsive porn use can often be a sign of emotional imbalance, and it’s crucial to address this in a compassionate and understanding way.

I also share some personal stories, like how my own commitment to the gym became a healthy outlet for managing stress. It’s a great example of how certain compulsions can actually be beneficial when channelled correctly. Throughout the episode, I offer tips for parents on how to foster emotional intelligence in their children by encouraging open conversations about compulsions, rejection, and self-awareness.
My goal is to help you recognise and manage compulsive behaviours in a way that promotes a healthier, more balanced life.
