In this episode, I'm taking you on a journey through the world of immersive video using the pricey Vision PRO headset. We'll explore how it stacks up against its contenders like the Meta Quest, especially when it comes to price and versatility. Is it truly the VIP ticket for personal streaming that could replace your cinema experience? Or is it a costly gadget that falls short in creating the communal vibes we crave?

You'll hear about my adventures in porting animations from Unity into the Vision PRO, where I used an Analog-AR headset, equipped with a phone, to test the AR waters right in my living room. As an animator and AR developer, I'm pumped about the ways this tech could revolutionize filmmaking and production, but there's no shying away from its current limitations and hefty tag.

We'll also discuss the nuts and bolts of working with Unity's render pipelines. Get ready for a technical tango between URP and HDRP, where we dodge the dreaded pink materials and tackle shader snags. Can HDRP's high fidelity be harnessed for mobile AR? Is it possible to create an animated AR paradise as a screensaver for your real world? We'll find out.

Plus, as an MD PhD student deeply entrenched in integrated neuroscience, I've got a keen eye on how these immersive experiences could play a role in medicine. From research to relaxation, we're pushing the boundaries of what AR can do for us, both in our health and hearts.
