Visit our website for yoga poses and craft materials to go with this story! Turtle's Worry Buster Challenge is available now!! JUST $27 until Dec 24, 2020! Today's story is an adaptation of a classic Zen story about letting go. In today’s story, Unicorn and Lion go to the fair. They are having an amazing time, but then somebody is really rude to them. They don’t understand why this person was so rude to them and it makes them feel angry and sad. These negative feelings almost ruin their entire day at the fair. But then, Unicorn’s Inner Star Power of Letting Go reminds her to remember the good things that have happened at the fair and to release her negative feelings about the person that was rude to her. She realized that when someone is rude, it’s usually because they feel bad inside, and there is no reason for her to let that ruin a really great day! When we let go of negative feelings and negative experiences, we can pay more attention to the good things in our lives and feel light and free and happy. Today’s Star Power Challenge is to get two pieces of paper. Draw three balloons on each piece of paper. On the first piece of paper, write or draw three memories that make you feel angry or sad. Then… Rip it up and throw it in the trash!! On the second piece of paper, write or draw three memories that make you feel happy. Take some time to remember these happy memories. Now you can spend more time thinking about these happy memories and practice letting go of the ones that make you feel unhappy. Visit our website for yoga poses and craft materials to go with this story! Turtle's Worry Buster Challenge is available now!! JUST $27 until Dec 24, 2020! “Your words are thoughts in action. Make your words match with what you want." -Unknown "Elephant Finds a Box"- Elephant found her Inner Star of Dreaming Big when she discovered a magical box on her front porch. Elephant has been dreaming about becoming an artist, but she was feeling discouraged and was using negative self-talk about her ability to reach her dreams. She discovered that every time she said something positive about herself, a jewel appeared in the magic box. As she continued speaking positively about herself and her ability to reach her dreams, she discovered how much power her words have over her feelings and her actions. The more positive things she said, the better she felt, and the more she believed in herself! The Star Power Challenge is for your child to create an Affirmation Jar. An affirmation is just something kind that you say to yourself. Some example are: I am smart. I am strong. I am brave. Have a grown-up print out the affirmation PDF on our website at: InnerStar Kids™ or write your own affirmations. Then, find a jar or container. It could be an empty jelly jar that a grown up helps you clean out. Decorate the jar with paints, markers, or stickers. Put the affirmations inside the jar. Pull an affirmation out of the jar whenever you want! Some people like to choose an affirmation every morning when they wake up or every night before they go to bed. Other people like to pull an affirmation when they are feeling upset or sad. You can use your affirmation jar any way you want! It’s there to help remind you how amazing you are and how powerful your positive words are! Take some time to reflect on how saying positive things makes you and your child feel.
