Congressman Steve Israel is a dynamic figure who has worn many hats throughout his career, from serving as a U.S. representative to becoming an author and bookseller. Representing New York in Congress from 2001 to 2017, he initially served in the 2nd congressional district before moving to the 3rd district, which spanned parts of Long Island and a portion of Queens.
