Questioning popular opinions & narratives of control. Demetra's bio: Somehow at the ripe young age of 32 I have lived many lives inside of just this one. Among other things I have been a yoga studio owner, “feminist instigator,” internet provacteur, poet, and a sex & relationship coach… before I fell into a spiritual “feminine business” cult from 2020-2022. I shut my business down, blew the whistle on that cult, and took the next couple years to heal and sort through that experience. I'm a former hardcore liberal turned... somehow quite conservative? Above all I have always been a writer, with freedom of speech and expression as my top value - one I have been willing to defend at any cost. I believe that without our ability to share what we truly think and feel with the people in our lives we do not have real freedom. And when our minds are hijacked without us knowing, we also do not have real freedom. I created this podcast to give a space to talk freely about any and every topic, no matter how controversial. I think people in this day and age are afraid to speak up and I'd like to encourage others to do the same. I am also the creator of a Substack called "Every Day the Sun Rises" where I investigate narratives of control and explore changing beliefs. It looks at a wide range of topics, from the culty viewpoints that invade our society, to actual cults and other corruption, to writings on what I call “the life of life” - essays on the beauty of being human and alive (I am still a poet at heart, after all). My husband Jordan is a popular relationship coach & he joins me for some episodes here as well. We collaborate together in multiple creative fronts. Let us expose the dark places to the light.
