Manage episode 397249403 series 3499400
Anele sits down for a chat with John Onwuchekwa who is one of the co-founders of Portrait Coffee in Atlanta, Georgia. As stated on his website Johno.co, everything in John’s life hinges on the power of words, both spoken and written. Whether it’s preaching, writing books, speaking into other people’s lives, framing new narratives through ventures like Portrait Coffee, or enjoying books and movies with his wife Shawndra and daughter Ava, in one way or another everything John does intersects with the beauty and power of words—both how he has been shaped by them and how he uses them to shape the world around him. John O is the co-founder of Portrait Coffee in Atlanta, Georgia, he’s an author, and his latest book is titled “We Go On”, which he was kind enough to give us a copy of, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the read. He is a co-director of the Crete Collective, which exists to establish gospel-driven churches in distressed and neglected Black and Brown communities and not only that, but John was also a pastor for 16 years. We’ll be learning more about much of all of this today as we talk about Jesus and coffee.
Disciples Make is a ministry dedicated to declaring the glory of God through the craftsmanship of disciples around the world. We do this by means of our visual library which highlights the work and testimonies of makers in various fields and professions. We exist to encourage the believer and to reach those seeking truth. At the heart of all that we do our mission is to love Jesus, love people and make disciples.
