Episode 166 - Ben's a Basketball (film) Legend
Manage episode 354912622 series 3435317
Brad is absent, fighting off some form of pestilence from his national tour of seeing Florida's swamps and Utah's Utes, so Ben and Nate had to survive a two-host episode talking about their love for Gerard Butler's (Gerry Butts) new film Plane. We also revisit the discussion about whether M3GAN is a true horror film now that Ben has finally watched it.
As for trailers, we discuss the new trailers for White Men Can't Jump (SEE: BEN KONOWITZ), Guy Ritchie's The Covenant (GYLLENHAAL RETURNS TO WAR), and Strays (R-RATED HOMEWARD BOUND.) And, to not disappoint our game-loving listeners, we played a game about 90s basketball films.
So, stretch those quads, lace up the hightops, prepare the Walkmen, and GO FLIX YOURSELF.
TRAILERS WE WATCHED:
- White Men Can't Jump Trailer - Play hard, hustle harder. White Men Can't Jump, starring Sinqua Walls and Jack Harlow, streaming May 19 on Hulu.
- Guy Ritchie's The Covenant Trailer - Follows Sergeant John, who, on his last tour of duty in Afghanistan, is teamed with local interpreter Ahmed, who risks his own life to carry an injured John across miles of grueling terrain to safety.
- Strays Trailer - They say a dog is a man's best friend, but what if the man is a total dirtbag? In that case, it might be time for some sweet revenge, doggy style. Check out the red band trailer for Strays, an upcoming live-action comedy movie starring Will Ferrell, Will Forte, Jamie Foxx, Isla Fisher, and Randall Park. Strays, directed by Josh Greenbaum, opens in theaters on June 9, 2023.
