We discuss the executive order by Biden restricting entry into the US. Policy is similar to Trump's. It is seen as a placating gesture to the MAGA crowd, and is not popular with many Democrats. Other solutions would have been possible: legal immigration expansion, guest worker program, etc. The US needs immigration because of demographic issues, and worker shortage.
The climate crisis is exacerbating a huge refugee problem.
While fentanyl is often cited as being brought by undocumented immigrants, the bulk actually arrives through legal ports of entry in mass quantities.
The MAGA want women to be chattel, obligated to have babies to supply workers. No abortion, no contraception, etc.
