This lecture discusses key ideas from the ancient philosopher and statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero's work, On The Ends, which discusses problems and perspectives on happiness, ethics, and human nature Specifically it examines his discussion in book 3 likening the virtue of wisdom to certain arts, particularly dancing and acting. Cicero draws out the points of similarity, and also indicates where they differ.
