RPDP 46 "Pink sinking missile" 01.20.25
Manage episode 462089189 series 3491062
Another Friday night cast, another box of wine, another day at the RPDP offices. We talk about crypto, names for AI, animals, the main vein media, American Gladiators, anime vs. cartoons, shitty dates, that pesky red heifer, the C’s and the D’s, women’s rights, China, economics, and Sneeches.
This is my Letterboxd review of the motion picture Manhunter (1986):
Disclaimer: I haven’t seen Red Dragon yet. I have seen Silence of the Lambs. What happened to Brian Peterson? He absolutely fucking rules in this. Brian Cox is also brilliant as Hannibal. It’s really trippy to see young Brian Cox rocking the accent, he’s got Christian Bale vibes when Christian Bale was in fucking diapers. The patina on this one is perfect. Michael Mann just crushing shit like you’d expect. Hey! Ho! Cocaine let’s go! Dennis Farina rules. Perfect Chicago attitude on 11. It’s got thrills, chills, and a bulletproof plot. It’s wild when the paparazzi shithead gets lit on fire and we actually feel bad about it even though the character is a complete dildo because that’s how sick and nasty the Red Dragon is. What a weird pervert this motherfucker turns out to be. Super weird. The score fucking rules. The scene where the blind chick pets the tiger is fucking bananas. Then she puts out! Wild shit. This is one where not a damn thing is out of place. It’s brilliant.
