Shiny object syndrome, also called "SOS" is a pop-cultural, psychological concept where people focus on a shiny, new object, in other words, whatever is most current, trendy, or the latest concept, regardless of how valuable or helpful it may ultimately be.
Here are Four Outcomes of the Shiny Object Syndrome:

  1. You don't achieve your desire goals
  2. You lose time
  3. You become a "Jack of All Trades" - Master of none
  4. You create internal and external confusion

Here are some ways to mitigate shiny object syndrome in your business.

  1. Create clear and compelling goals
  2. Develop Commitment
  3. Get more accountability
  4. Manager the source(s) of your distraction
