Here's a question given to us by Brian Zhand: did you ever notice that the gospel writers don't even attempt to describe the resurrection? They talk all about the crucifixion. But for the resurrection, there's just the announcement that it happened. Then he suggests that they couldn't describe it. Death belongs to the old age - we know all about death. But resurrection is from the New Creation. They simply didn't have the categories for it. Let's talk about the three characters in the story. Nicodemus, Joseph, and Mary. They're all locked inside the old creation mindset (we can't blame them, because we do it, too). They're locked inside their own tombs of fear, failure, meaningless life. We get locked in these tombs and others. Is there hope? Yup - it's Easter. There's resurrection. And once they experience resurrection it transforms their lives. The early church lived radically. We can, too. We don't have to fear. We can build a more inclusive kind of world. Hungry people can be fed. Homeless can be sheltered. The lonely can find friendship and love - if we live into resurrection life. Speaker: Aaron Vis Scripture: John 19:38-42; 20:1-23 http://bible.com/events/49061521
