Are you having a hard time accepting your child’s diagnosis as being Deaf? I know that the hearing loss journey looks different for every family, and some families can really struggle with coming to terms with the fact that your child is deaf.
I remember when I found out that my first kid had hearing loss, I literally couldn’t call him Deaf for the first 6 years of his life. After processing the diagnosis I’m now able to proudly say that he is Deaf.
How did I go from being afraid to say the word Deaf to embracing my kids identity as being Deaf? Listen to the podcast and I’ll tell you what helped me finally embrace my kids as they truly are!
