Happy (Almost) Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the last episode in the Fathers & Sons Double Feature for the month of April with, Full House S4E7: Viva Las Joey, which aired on November 2, 1990. In this episode Joey gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he's asked to open for Wayne Newton in Las Vegas. I enjoyed this episode, Joey got to say things to his Dad that he's probably bottled up inside for the last decade. In the end they make up and apparently his Dad wants to take credit for Joey's Popeye Impression since it was him who stayed with Joey when he had chicken pox at age 3 and watched cartoons (according to Season 1, he mentions he never had them). Watching Joey's Dad do a Popeye Impression was beyond cringe-worthy and embarrassing, both for Joey and us the viewers. Who at 30 years old is going to have a strong memory of something that happened when they were 3, or I'm sure his Mom would have remembered if he had chicken pox as a child or not. DJ and Stephanie call up Joey's Dad and invite him to see Joey's Stand Up Act in Las Vegas, unbeknownst to him when Joey opens the door to his dressing room to see his father standing there, talk about uncomfortable. Danny was right when he told the girls they should have come to him first before they made that call, since they had no idea Joey probably hasn't talked to his Dad in over a decade and with good reason, his Dad is a cold popsicle of a man, no smile, very reserved, but then again, he is Colonel Gladstone. In the end, after their talk, he becomes almost human. I mean he even smiles and gives Joey a long overdue hug. I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the episode.
