Carnavale Resources uncovers gold anomalies at Ghan Dam

Carnavale Resources Ltd (ASX:CAV) managing director Humphrey Hale sits down with Jonathan Jackson to discuss a small exploratory aircore drilling program at the Ghan Dam Prospect within the Ora Banda South Project, northwest of Kalgoorlie, WA. The program comprised 14 aircore holes, totalling 800 metres, targeting strike extensions of prior anomalies. All holes achieved target depth, revealing anomalous gold and pathfinder elements at the fresh rock interface. These results align with moderate tellurium and low-level arsenic anomalies, tracking the contacts of felsic porphyries. Hale stated that the program had clarified the relationship between existing gold anomalies and the geology. The mineralisation is associated with the Kurrawang formation, the Carnage shear structure and felsic intrusives. Work at Ora Banda South Project, containing kilometre-scale gold anomalies at the Carnage and Highlander prospects, is aimed at discovering a new gold deposit analogous to the Invincible Gold Mine. Carnavale identified favourable geology with significant shear structures and substantial regolith gold anomalies. Prospective geochemistry suggests an intrusion-related source for the gold system, analogous to Invincible. Further exploration is planned to locate the source of the anomalies within the sedimentary package on the Carnage shear.
