The Omicron is here and it's infecting everyone. And we mean, everyone. The R0 (R nought) on this particular strain is between 7 and 10 people. That means, that every single person who is infected will transmit it to another 7 to 10 people. And each one of those people will in turn likely spread it to another 7 to 10 more people. COVID-19 - Omicron strain is officially out of the box and spreading like Vegemite on a nice slice of toast.

The Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison (ScoMo), has taken a "oh well" approach to the new variant. But South Australia's Chief Medical Officer (CHO), Professor Nicola Spurrier, has told the Prime Minister:

"Scotty, hold my beer".

The CHO in South Australia has completely contradicted the Commonwealth Government. SA is the only State to have a different definition of "Close Contact". Any person labelled as a "close contact" has to self-isolate at home and monitor for symptoms.

There are over 20,000 people in South Australia who have been told to stay home, away from society during the Holiday season. Why? Because they were in the same room with a person who tested positive for the Omicron, the new strain of SARS-COV-II that has the same symptoms as a mild cold.

People in South Australia are not happy about the state setting up such different rules to the rest of the country. It is a palpable feeling of resistance in the South Australian section of the Prison Colony.
