This is the post purchase pro podcast, episode 34: How to Accomplish Anything in Your Business with Tiny Steps.

Welcome that Sean Heart, along with Seth Stephens, a co-founder post purchase Pro.

Seth today, we're going to talk about how to accomplish almost any task in your business or your personal life, to be exact, by cutting it up into tiny, tiny steps that could be repeated.

He was kinda funny that you brought this topic up, because, over the last week, Sean, I've been talking with several business owners, especially business owners in the Amazon space, and this keeps coming up. It's like, how do you scale? How can you break your business apart into different processes? How can you get somebody in your business to help you along the way?

So when you started talking about, you know, the way that we've been able to build businesses is to break, break a big task up into small, tiny little steps. I got all amped up and ready to have recorded this today. Sean?

Yeah, so what brought it up to me was the you know, the we all talk about opt in about the four minute mile.

No, so the four minute mile it's it's easy to overlook the story.

But when Roger banister broke the four minute mile on May 6 1954 Oxford University, UK, I think I got that right.

What people often overlook Seth is that it didn't just walk out there and start training for a four minute mile, they didn't just jump on the track and decide to run a four minute mile.

But what what people forget is that a lot of people, a heck of a lot smarter, than Roger banister, said this is impossible.

The human body cannot achieve this but, luckily, mister Banister did not approved, did not agree with that theory.

and a lot of folks know obviously that the four minute mile was broken and that within that year that that record had been broken a couple more times pretty quickly.

It expanded the mind into what was possible, but the most important lessons that the thing that stands out the most to me is that when Roger went out to do that, he didn't do it in one city.

First, he trained to see if he could get to the point, his goal was to do a quarter of a mile, in, in 15 minutes, right? Or, I'm sorry, in one minute, I'm reading over here at the same time. So, you can't go out there and say, hey, I'm going to run a mile in four minutes.

No, he says, I'm going to run a quarter of a mile in one minute, OK?

Check, was a tiny step.

Now, let's see if I can do a half a mile, right, in NaN, check.

Now, we'll see if we can, oh, my gosh. Yeah, see, I'm getting my back's backwards there.

But the idea is, is that, know, if you want to complete a mile in four minutes, cut it up into tiny, bite sized pieces. Right?

All right, Do you're, you're, you're a quarter mile, and in one minute, you're half a mile, two minutes.

And then, once you accomplish that task, go out there and do your, three quarters of a mile, in three minutes, and then finally, he was able to go out and break the four minute mile mark.

Legend has it, you know we weren't there, because it was 20 years before I was even thought of, is that the time was three minutes, NaN.

The fact, Seth, that's so profound, to me, is that Roger banister cut that up into small, bite sized pieces. So when you think about it, one of my favorite authors, Evers, Augment Dino.

And if you ever get a chance to read or listened to the book, it's called the greatest salesman in the world. And one of the quotes the og says in th
