How did a teenage runaway, with no formal flight training, manage to elude law enforcement after committing numerous crimes on Orcas Island and elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest, fly across state lines, and eventually flee the US altogether to evade capture for so long?

He evaded authorities on both continental, and tropical, international islands from the San Juan Islands of the Puget Sound to the more densely populated Abaco, on to Eleuthra, and the pink sand beaches of Harbour Island.
