Dr. Phil Boucher completed medical school and pediatric residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has been in private practice since 2014. He was first featured on the PNC Podcast in December of 2020. He is known for integrating cutting-edge technologies in medical offices, whether to communicate better with patients, improve productivity, or market the practice.

In today’s interview, Dr Phil Boucher returns to the podcast to address two updates. First, he describes how he decided to open his own Direct Primary Care Practice in 2022. He explains that it takes more planning and managing than working as an employee in a large group. But there are many benefits, which he describes during our conversation.

We spend the remaining time discussing his new side business. It grew out of a desire to address 2 problems facing many small medical practices:

  • filling schedule openings due to cancellations without using up staff to call patients on a waiting list (OpenSpot at findopenspot.com), and
  • helping new practices generate more leads during the early years by automating new patient engagement (Practice Leads at getpracticeleads.com).

Phil describes the process he went through to develop both tools. And he explains how he was able to generate seed money by joining Founder University and applying to other start-up accelerators.

To get a glimpse of how Phil’s practice works, check out his practice website at FrontierPediatric.Care.
