On day two of the Festival of Financial Planning, Martin talks to Danby Bloch from Platforum about some winning strategies for financial planners, including the impact of MiFIDII on fee disclosure. Danby is a consultant to Platforum and chairman of Helm Godfrey a City-based firm of independent financial advisers and employee benefit consultants. He was the founder and editorial director of Taxbriefs the specialist publishing company and was a non-executive director of Nucleus Financial Group the investment platform provider. He has written and edited books, articles and learning resources about financial planning, pensions, investments and tax, including a number of Chartered Insurance Institute learning texts. He has taken a close interest in education and was on the board of Oxford Brookes University, ultimately becoming chair of governors and then Pro-Chancellor. He was chair of the Committee of University Chairmen group on governor training and education. Danby also sat on the investment committee of Wadham College - his old Oxford college where as an undergraduate he studied philosophy, politics and economics. He is a trustee of the Equal Rights Trust and has just retired as chair of the Oxford Playhouse.
