peep podcast team up with The Bridge UK Project Hip Hop and their fourth event, which was situated in the centre of Newcastle upon tyne, featuring presenter and music photographer 'Normski', DJ Sarah Love, DJ Specifik, Mojaxx and female rapper - Holly Flow Lightly. The panel discussion features themes of ‘DJing’ within the genre of Hip Hop music, which touches on buying Vinyl to downloading new Digital music.
Each panel remembers and explains the first time they heard the art form of ‘Scratching’ and Hip Hop music including the ‘new music’ that was being created by using a mixer and playing two records together to create a different art form of music. The panel also discuss themes of the Hip Hop DJ being forgotten and put a side for more commercial technology within todays music.
Is DJing still as important in todays Hip Hop music?. The Bridge Hip Hop Uk Lost arts reflect on the likes of ‘Kool Herc, and ‘Grand Master Flash’ and ask, have we forgotten our ‘Hip Hop Heroes’ .
This Newcastle panel discussion was part of a series of ongoing interviews created by peep. If you’re interested in watching more themes of Newcastle’s underground pioneers, follow this link - www.peep.ltd
