69. I FINALLY MET A PANGOLIN!

Pangolin: The Conservation Podcast

Today I am going to share the story of the first time I ever saw a pangolin in real life!

With over 100 podcast episodes, 10 conference presentations and a whole bunch of education work done in its name, the excitement was overwhelming. I am so grateful that they exist and that they are just as magical in person. The waddles, the sniffles, the curling into a ball. The moments of confusion, the awkward climbing, the gentle curiosity. The scales, the tongue, the tired eyes. The way it’s scales shimmer in the sunlight and the way they dance in the speckled shade. The fact they are unlike anything else on our beautiful planet. That’s what makes the pangolin special. That’s why I love them.

Please do everything you can to protect the pangolin. Raise awareness of the fact it is the most trafficked mammal in the world, donate funds to conservation organisations, support the people on the front line who are doing incredible research into this beautiful species. Thank you all for supporting this long distance relationship for the last 3 years. Pangolin: The Conservation Podcast and all it has brought me has made them a wild ride. Here’s to the next 100 years of obsession.
